Residencia Solaris, an eco-residential project in the mountains of Santa Ana

A design case unanimously recognized as a model of excellence in sustainable architecture, combining innovative design and environmental respect in one of Costa Rica’s most breathtaking natural settings. Nestled in the mountains of Santa Ana, this eco-residential project spans 13 hectares of pristine forest, with only 10% developed, carefully preserving the area’s natural balance. Residencia Solaris is a complex of four residential towers, inspired by the elements of nature – Earth, Water, Air, and Fire – seamlessly integrating into the landscape while respecting its unique characteristics. The project places a strong emphasis on sustainability: the materials used are natural and environmentally friendly, the finishes reflect the beauty of the surroundings, and green spaces take center stage. Trails immersed in lush vegetation, meditation areas, an organic garden, and conservation zones transform Residencia Solaris into a true sanctuary of well-being, where humans and nature coexist in perfect harmony. More than just a residential complex, Residencia Solaris is an authentic way of life.

A chat about Edoné with Hector Anchia, CEO Kamalio

Rea with a dark frame and natural finish: among the various Edoné solutions, what led you to prefer this one?
Rea, with its versatile nature and perfect blend of natural essence and technical design, was perfectly aligned with the design philosophy of this residential complex. The wide, clean door panel, crafted in a natural wood finish, reinforces the central connection with nature, while the metal frame, in an Asphalt finish, acts as a frame that directly recalls human intervention— yet remains a mere support to the extraordinary beauty that nature provides.

At the time of the project, was there a specific need that made Edoné’s extensive customization options particularly strategic and useful?
Working with Edoné—generally speaking—means knowing we can rely on a wide range of customization options already available in the catalog. Additionally, based on our experience, we know that Edoné has an incredible ability to provide fully customized solutions when needed. This allows us to always count on Edoné’s professionalism and its ability to offer designs that are consistently in line with market trends.

Biophilic bathroom, biophilic design: we hear more and more about it and there is growing attention to this design concept. You are somehow veterans in this sense, what would you like to tell us about it?
Biophilic design is deeply rooted in the traditions of Costa Rica, a country renowned for its rich biodiversity and environmental awareness. Integrating natural elements into living spaces, reflecting the connection between humans and nature, and emphasizing well-being and sustainability have always been part of our ethos. Embracing natural materials, allowing abundant light, and incorporating outdoor vegetation are concepts central to our vision when creating spaces that foster a sense of calm and relaxation. For this reason, we can only view the growing adoption of this approach with great enthusiasm.
